good morning, a blog...my grammar stinks ! Art to me is not about perfection. Connection to pure creativity is dreamy. So often challenging to attain, the voices of doubt enter and it's crowded. When color and form take over and the questioning subsides, all is well in my world.
The challenge of a new canvas, the first gesture opens the door to color, form and texture. Occasionally I am asked, how long does it take to make a painting...sometimes forever. Sometimes it flows easily. The pleasure and suffering are the yin-yang, might seem odd but are weirdly connected. It's the suffering that pushes me to challenge myself as a painter. Sometimes I feel like I simply stink and should give it up and sometimes, I've come to realize for me that's just how it rolls. It's the honesty in life and art that centers me.
